PHOTO: Duncan Mighty and Tonto Dikeh share some love
Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh is currently in the Garden
City, as Port Harcourt is also fondly called, where she
recently spent time with her fellow townsman as well
famous musician, Duncan Mighty .
With fans of the controversial actress on a steady lookout
for the man in her life whom she has intensely shielded
from the public, every man she’s seen with is a seen as the
likely person.
However, in this case, Tonto Dikeh’s mystery man is not of
course n0t Duncan Mighty because the self-styled Port
Harcourt 1st Son, recently proposed to his boo of many
years on her birthday and she said yes.
Regardless of the details anyway, both stars share a kiss in
this picture and it looks good as far as we can see.

Open Heavens 16 February 2015: Monday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Despising the Days of Small Beginnings?
Topic: Despising the Days of Small Beginnings? [Monday
February 16, 2015]
Memorise: For who hath despised the day of small rejoice,
and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with
those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to
and fro through the whole earth. - Zechariah 4:10
Read: (1 Kings 18:42-44 KJV )
42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up
to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the
earth, and put his face between his knees,
43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the
sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is
nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said,
Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a
man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare
thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
Bible in one year: Jeremiah 51:52-52:34 , and Acts
27:13-32
MESSAGE:
Today’s reading is a popular Bible story that serves as a
perfect example to illustrate God’s view on small
beginnings. The Almighty God seems to favour the
principle of things starting in a small, manageable way and
then growing progressively. This principle runs through
almost everything in creation. In the book of Genesis, God
only created a sample of each species of plants and
animals which He commanded to reproduce, then multiply
and go on to replenish the earth. The outcome can be seen
today. It is amazing to note that the Redeemed Christian
Church of God started more or less like a house fellowship
with about 12 members. Today, by God’s grace, it has
grown into a Church with thousands of perishes spread all
over the world, I therefore pray that though your beginning
may be small, your latter end will be great in Jesus’ Name.
It is important to know that the message of Jesus Christ in
the story of the mustard seed in Mark 4:30-32 was to show
that though the size of a mustard seed may be small, it
grows to become a massive plant. He likened this to the
kingdom He came to establish, to show that the kingdom of
God will grow and its final manifestation will be
surprisingly great. Its final manifestation will bear no
resemblance to its small beginning. Truth to those words,
the Church has grown beyond measure and the gospel of
Jesus Christ has almost travelled round the whole world.
Whatever you are doing or planning to do, be it in ministry
or in business, do not kill yourself to start big with
everything in place. Do not be discouraged by negative
comments of despisers. Focus on your assignment and
look onto God for increase ( Job 8:7 ).
After prophet Elijah had laboured vigorously in the place of
prayer by casting himself down on the floor and putting his
face between his knees, all he received was a little cloud
like a man’s hand. But soon after, the sky was black with
clouds and there was a great rain. There is somebody
reading this devotional, maybe you are at the beginning of
your education or training; maybe you are just starting a
new perish or ministry, a new career or business. Do not be
afraid because your beginning is small, the Almighty God
will cause your latter end to be great in the Name of Jesus.
Prayer Point: Father, please help my humble beginning;
cause my latter end to be great in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 14 February 2015: Saturday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Faith without Works?
Topic: Faith without Works? [Saturday February 14, 2015]
Memorise: But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that
he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. - Hebrews
11:6
Read: (James 2:14-17 KJV)
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he
hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily
food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye
warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those
things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 49:23-50:46 , and Acts
26:1-23
MESSAGE:
It is necessary to first establish the fact that the statement
of James that “faith without works is dead”, applies to the
fellow who knows the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Such
a person knows the facts about God in the mind, is
persuaded of the truth of the gospel and is in agreement
with Christian principles. In fact, such a person takes part
in Christian worship, is a church-goer and believes with all
sincerity that he or she is a true child of God. The only
issue is that such a person fails to commit to Jesus in a
way and manner that leads to changes in lifestyle. Such
people refuse to allow old things in their lives to pass away
– there is no crossing the line from darkness to light, there
is no spiritual development or growth and such a person
does not bear the fruits of righteousness. James 2:17
describes a person whose faith is dead because there are
no works to show for it. In Matthew 7:21 , Jesus was
referring to such people when He said.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
It is very clear therefore that there is a form of action that
must follow any profession of faith in Christ Jesus before
such faith can be called a living faith. When profession of
faith is not backed up with action, then such faith is dead.
Many are in the Church today living their lives the same
way as people who do not know Christ. The Bible in 2
Timothy 3:5a , described such people as
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power
thereof:”
Such people profess faith in the Son of God; they claim that
they believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ but they flatly
deny the transforming power in the Word of God. They
would do anything in the Name of God except allow any
genuine transformation to take place in their lives.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.” - Romans 12:2
Children of God, faith without works is dead, and dead faith
is of no use to anyone. Renew your faith today by backing
it up with active works of righteousness. Put on the new
man who is renewed in knowledge and transformed into the
image of Christ (Colossians 3:10 )
Action Point: Faith without works is dead, follow up your
faith with works of righteousness.

Open Heavens 13 February 2015: Friday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - The Sovereign God
Topic: The Sovereign God [Friday February 13, 2015]
Memorise: But our God is in the heavens: he hath done
whatsoever he hath pleased. - Psalm 115:3
Read: (1 Samuel 2:27-30 KJV)
27 And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto
him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the
house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's
house?
28 And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be
my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear
an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy
father all the offerings made by fire of the children of
Israel?
29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering,
which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest
thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the
chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed
that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk
before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from
me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that
despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
Bible in one year: Jeremiah 48:1-49:22 , and Acts 25:13-27
MESSAGE:
God is sovereign! He possesses ultimate power and
exercises supreme authority over an ultimate territory.
Psalm 135:6 explains that God is able to do as He pleases
in heaven and on earth. Luke 1:37 says that with God,
nothing shall be impossible, and Daniel 4:35 says that He
is unquestionable; no one can restrain Him.
It is very important to realise that God cannot be
successfully opposed (Job 9:12, Isaiah 43:13 ). He is the
Lord of heaven and earth. 1 Timothy 6:15 calls Him the
only Potentate, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He
reigns supreme and His kingdom is forever ( Psalm 29:10 ).
God’s sovereignty extends over all things. He is sovereign
over creation because He created all things for His own
pleasure (Revelation 4:11 ). He is sovereign over human
life and over even the minutest details of life – for
example, He said the very hairs of our head are all
numbered ( Matthew 10:30 ). He is sovereign over world
history and governments. In proverbs 21:1 , He said the
king’s heart is in His hands. Daniel 4:17 also affairs that
the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and He gives it
to whomsoever He pleases.
The sovereign God is completely in control of the life and
salvation of His chosen people, as well as everything
concerning believers. As a matter of fact, because Satan
and his demons are part of the created order, they are also
subject to the authority of the Most High God.
Consequently, God is sovereign over Satan, gods, demonic
forces, principles and powers in high places, etc. that is
why Colossians 1:16 says that:
“For by him were all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things are created by
him, and for him:”
God deserves our worship and adoration, He is worthy of
all glory, honour, and praise. He is greater that the
greatest, yet He is full of love and mercy. All power in
heaven and on earth belongs to Him. Lift Him up high.
Magnify and bless His holy Name forevermore.
Action Point: Worship the sovereign God and sing praises
to His holy Name throughout the day. As you do this, His
divine presence will become manifest in your life in Jesus’
Name.

Open Heavens 12 February 2015: Thursday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Divine Information
Topic: Divine Information [Thursday February 12, 2015]
Memorise: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give
to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise
of God. - Revelation 2:7
Read: (Amos 3:7-8 KJV)
7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his
secret unto his servants the prophets.
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD
hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
Bible in one year: Jeremiah 45-47, and Acts 24:22-25:12
MESSAGE:
Divine information refers to knowledge, instruction,
intelligence, facts or details relating to or proceeding
directly from God. Divine information is given as an act of
love to save humanity from Satan, sin and its destructive
effects. There are many sources of divine information such
as the Bible, the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus Christ. The
operation of these three complement and do not contradict
each other. This truth is established in John 16:14 and in 2
Peter 1:20-21 which says:
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture
is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy
came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men
of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Other sources of divine information including God speaking
through his prophets ( Amos 3:7 ); through visions and
dreams (Daniel 1:17 ) and by the use of special signs ( 1
Kings 13:3-5 ). The content of a divine revelation can be
the unveiling of hidden mysteries (Daniel 2:22 ), a
notification of future events (Genesis 41:25 ), a revelation
of God’s glory, a revelation of God’s salvation (Luke
2:30-32 ) or a revelation of God’s wrath ( Romans 1:18 ).
However, the general response that God expects from you
whenever divine information is sent to you is sobriety,
compliance, total obedience and immediate action.
“Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To
day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye
will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” - Hebrew
4:7
Please be warned that refusal to heed divine information in
a timely manner could lead to devastating results that may
be irreversible. God is presently sending out several divine
signals and information. He is calling the Church back
from worldliness and a sinful lifestyle to holiness and
righteousness. Please do not harden your hearts; today is
the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late!
Prayer Point: Father, please help me to give a timely and
positive response to every divine information I receive in
Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 11 February 2015: Wednesday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Sound of Abundant Rain
Topic: Sound of Abundant Rain [Wednesday February 11,
2015]
Memorise: Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter
rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them
showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. - Zechariah
10:1
Read: (1 Kings 18:41-45 KJV )
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink;
for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven
was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great
rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 43-44 and Acts 24:1-21
MESSAGE:
There is a point in the life of every child of God when the
appointed time for the fulfilment of a divine promise
arrives. We know as a matter of fact that the word of God is
yea and amen. We believe that His word is settled in
heaven. We are also certain that heaven and earth may
pass away but a dot in His word will not pass away
unfulfilled. Nevertheless, as the time of fulfilment of a major
prophecy approaches, we may become overwhelmed with
suspense and anxiety.
This seems to the case of Elijah in today's reading. Three
years before, the prophet had authoritatively declared to
king Ahab that there will be no dew nor rain in the land of
Israel, except by his word (1 Kings 17:1 ). Within the three
years following that event, God had answered his various
requests, and the victory over the prophets of Baal was still
fresh in his mind. Yet he knew that if God should send rain
at his word, It would be a great accomplishment and the
crowning point of his life. It was with this feeling that Elijah
approached Mount Carmel for the manifestation of the
power of God on the back of God's promise.
There are important lessons to be learnt from the way the
prophet handled the situation. First, he exhibited his faith
in the Word of God by confidently giving Ahab the
assurance to go and start celebrating the coming of the
rain. Next is the prophet's attitude to prayer. He decided to
put his faith into action through fervent prayers. He was
not tempted to leave God to fulfil His own promise.
Thirdly, the sound of abundant rain must have been a sign
from God to the prophet, because others could not hear it.
He received it with joy as a token that his prayer would be
answered, and he announced it to the world by faith. The
fourth lesson is that, even though his servant told him
"there is nothing" six times, he did not allow
discouragement to set in. He knew what God told him, and
he held onto it tenaciously. Finally, Prophet Elijah
persevered in the place of prayer. He said to his servant
"go again", seven times. He continued to watch and pray
and finally, there was a great rain. As you tarry in the place
of prayer this year, the Lord will answer all your request by
fire in Jesus' Name. Always remember this:
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the
end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for
it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

Kenyan boy offers to sell his kidney for secondary school fees
Kakamega – A 15-year-old boy who sat for his KCPE
examination last year at Kongoni primary school in
Likuyani Sub County and managed to score 401 marks has
offered to sell his kidney to raise secondary school fees.
Speaking to West FM, Benjamin Wanjala who hails from a
poverty stricken family at Furfural village, Kongoni
location, said he first did KCPE in 2013 together with his
elder sister where he managed to score 372 marks while
his sister got 282 marks.
He received an admission letter from Chebisaas Boys High
School in Uasin Gishu county but his father Bernard
Manyasi wasn’t able to take the two of them to secondary
schools and begged him to allow his sister to join form
one.
Wanjala says he obeyed his father’s decision and opted to
repeat standard eight hoping to score 400 marks and above
so that he could get sponsorship of which he managed to
score 401 but it has become a nightmare for him to secure
admission in secondary school.
The boy who has been selected to join Mang’u High School
in Kiambu county would like to be a surgeon after
completing his education but he says it seems he will not
realize his dream due to lack of school fees.
After his father has tried all means possible to raise school
fees without success, the boy has now offered to sale his
kidney to secure admission in secondary school.
“Because my father is unable to raise my fees, I have at
my tender age offered to sell my kidney, our science
teacher taught us that a person can survive with one
kidney and for me I’m ready to part with one of my kidneys
to realize my dreams,” said the little boy.
His father Bernard Manyasi who lives with his family on a
0.2 acre land survives by baking bricks on the same land
says the burden has weighed heavily on him since he
already have two daughters in form two and three who are
also facing school fees challenges.
He said during the December holiday his son helped him in
making bricks and he has 10,000 bricks which are ready for
sale but he hasn’t got a market.
He adds that his efforts to get help from the ward and CDF
bursary kitties have been in vain.
“I went to my MCA Robert Makhanu but I didn’t get any
assistance, I also visited my MP Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy but
all has been in vain, and more painful when I approached
one of the elected leaders from this sub county he rudely
chased me away from his office warning me not to take my
burden to him,” said a disappointed Manyasi.
Manyasi says his son is disciplined and hardworking and if
he gets a sponsor he will realize his dreams of becoming a
surgeon.
The area sub county education officer David Esemele
Mwandihi has also sent a passionate appeal to well
wishers to help this bright brain so that it doesn’t go to
waste.
“This boy was among the top ten in the sub county and he
really deserve to join a national school and I can see a
bright future in him, I therefore appeal to local leaders and
other well wishers to help him join high school. I tell you he
will be resourceful to the community,” said Mwandihi.
According to Kongoni primary school head teacher Julius
Matere, Wanjawa was among the best candidates the
school has produced saying he was always above average
and top of his class and his classmates had nicknamed
him professor, West FM reported.
News : Unbelievable ! New Born Baby Pregnant with Twins
The cause of the abnormalities is unknown but
the World Health Organisation classified it as a
type of cancer. A baby girl was born in 2010
and found to be pregnant with twins in Hong
Kong. The girl who was born in Queen Elizabeth
Hospital had to undergo surgery at just three
weeks old to remove them.
The extraordinary goggling incident was detailed in the
latest edition of the Hong Kong Medical Journal .
According to the report, the condition which is known as
foetus in foetu occurs in just one in 500,000 births in
the world.
The 10-week old gestated foetuses had legs, arms, a
spine, rib cage, intestines and were also covered in
skin.
Both foetuses which had umbilical cord, weighed 14.2
grammes and the other 9.3 grammes .
The surgery was successful and the girl was discharged
from hospital eight days later.
According to UK Mirror, it is believed that this case is
the first to be documented in the city.
“It was almost impossible to detect during the prenatal
check-up, as the embryo inside the baby was too
small,” Dr Yu Kai-man , a specialist in obstetrics and
gynaecology, said.
“Since it is impossible for the little girl to have
conceived the pregnancy on her own, the fertilisation of
the twin fetuses, of course, belongs to her parents,
which has gone to the wrong place,” said Yu, a former
professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong.
According to report, the cause of this abnormality has
not been determined but the World Health Organisation
classified it as a type of cancer and suggested it was
possibly linked to the mother having multiple abortions.

Topic: Faithful Christian Worker [Tuesday February 10,
2015]
Memorise: Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man
be found faithful. - 1 Corinthians 4:2
Read: (Luke 12:37-38 KJV)
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he
cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he
shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and
will come forth and serve them.
38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the
third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
Bible in one year: Jeremiah 40-42, and Acts 23:12-35
MESSAGE:
A Christian worker is a born-again child of God; a steward
who has been entrusted with the careful use, control and
management of kingdom resources and possessions. The
teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ on stewardship
emphasised two things that are important: responsibility
and accountability. Jesus speaking on responsibility in
Luke 12:48 said:
“But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy
of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto
whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much
required: and to whom men have committed much, of
him they will ask the more.”
According to Revelation 4:11 , God created man and
everything else for His pleasure. Individuals are therefore
accountable for their God-given physical and spiritual
endowments. Christians are also responsible for whatever
is put in their care. The gifts and talents in our lives are to
be used profitably for the expansion of the kingdom of God.
The Bible further states in Romans 14:12 that every one of
us shall give account of himself to God, and in Romans 2:6
that God will render to every man according to his deeds.
Consequently, every Christian worker is accountable to
God. The Bible also admonishes us not to neglect our gifts
but to develop and polish them.
“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given
thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of
the presbytery.” - 1 Timothy 4:14
Christians are to be wise stewards of their God-given gifts,
talents and abilities. They are to serve with humility, total
submission to authority and in the fear of God. They are to
serve with gratitude to God and for the benefit of others.
Christian workers in whatever department should not view
the work of God as an opportunity to make money. The
work should not be done with eye-service but as unto the
Lord, who will faithfully reward those who diligently serve
Him. Finally, whatever your hands find to do, do it with all
your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10 ), and don’t be slothful in
God’s business, but rather be fervent in your physical and
spiritual service to God (Romans 12:11 ). I pray that as you
work fervently for God this year, He will reward you
accordingly in Jesus’ Name.
Prayer Point: Father, please let the cup of my physical and
spiritual blessings overflow this year in the Name of Jesus.

Memorise: And hath made us kings and priests unto God
and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and
ever. Amen. - Revelation 1:6
Read: (1 Samuel 16:1, 11-13 KJV)
1 And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou
mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning
over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee
to Jesse the Beth-lehemite: for I have provided me a king
among his sons.
11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children?
And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and,
behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse,
Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come
hither.
12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and
withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to.
And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in
the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came
upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and
went to Ramah.
Bible in one Year: Jeremiah 37:11-39:18 and Acts
22:30-23:11
MESSAGE:
Prior to the anointing of David as King of Israel in 1 Samuel
16:11-13 , he was ordinary like any other person. But after
the anointing came on him, he received supernatural grace
to accomplish great things for God. The choice of David
was neither an accident nor coincidence. In 1 Samuel
13:14 . The Bible says this concerning him:
'.... The LORD hath sought him a man after his own
heart...'
This reveals that there was a solemn search that led God
to David in the wilderness, Also, in 1 Samuel 16:7, God
said:
'... for man looketh on the outward appearance, but
the LORD looketh on the heart.'
It is therefore clear that qualification for divine royalty
strictly depends on the condition of a person's heart
towards God.
Divine royalty put a fellow in the position of authority over
all circumstances of life. At the command of a ' divine
royal' sickness , poverty, failure and the demons behind
them must bow. The authority, responsibilities and honour
attached to divine royalty suggest that a heart focused on
God is necessary to be eligible for such high honour and
glory. The title 'Divine Royalty ' is therefore strictly
reserved for a born- again and sanctified children of God.
To this end , Daniel 7:18 reveals that the saints of God
shall take and posses the kingdom forever and ever.
'But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out
of darkness into his marvellous light:' 1 Peter 2:9
One thing is sure: a person can only manifest the status of
divine royalty if and only if the anointing continues to rest
upon him or her. We must note that there are things divine
royals cannot do and certain types of relationships they
cannot keep. 1 Corinthians 10:22 says :
'All things are lawful for me, but all things are not
expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things
edify not.'
As you begin to live according to the high standard of
heaven in agreement with the Word of God, may the
anointing for divine royalty fall upon you today in the Name
of Jesus. Amen.
Action Point: You are a divine royal and a member of
God's royal priesthood; ask for grace to live up to
expectation today.

and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and
ever.

INEC bows to pressure; General Elections now march 28th, April 11th
The Independent National Electoral Commission on
Saturday announced a shift in the 2015 general elections
earlier slated for February 14 and 28.
Announcing the postponement at a press conference in
Abuja some few hours ago, the chairman of the
Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, said the presidential and
national assembly elections will now hold on March 28
while the governorship and state houses of assemblies
election will take place on April 11.
The INEC chair blamed the elections postponement on the
inability of the nation’s security agencies to provide
manpower for the elections.
According to Jega, the security agencies told INEC that
they were commencing a six-week special operation
against Boko Haram insurgents in the north eastern part of
the country and would rather not be weighed in by the
elections.
Mr. Jega announced that the security agencies also
informed the commission that operations to dislodge the
sect are due to commence on February 14, the date earlier
slated for the presidential and federal legislative elections.
This decision by the security forces, Jega said, rendered
INEC’s readiness and earlier stance that it was going to go
ahead with the elections a risky venture.

Sunday February 8 2015 Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Remember Now
Topic: Remember Now [Sunday February 8, 2015]
Memorise: Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy
heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the
ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know
thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into
judgement. - Ecclesiastes 11:9
Read: (Ecclesiastes 12:1-7 KJV)
1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while
the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou
shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be
not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble,
and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders
cease because they are few, and those that look out of the
windows be darkened
4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the
sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the
voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be
brought low;
5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and
fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish,
and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall
fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the
mourners go about the streets:
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be
broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the
wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the
spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

MESSAGE:
Remembrance is the act of keeping a subject matter in
mind for attention or consideration. It implies a bringing
back to memory of what has been lost, forgotten or
overlooked. A call to remember a subject matter is a call
for timely action that carries a strong warning with it. In
Ecclesiastes 12:1 , the power of the word “remember” is
further amplified by the word “now” which follows it.
“Remember now” is a command and a strong warning that
conveys a need for urgent action.
Children of God must remember that every kingdom
responsibility and assignment is time-bound. Time is of
essence, it is more precious than money and it waits for no
one. We don’t have the luxury of controlling time. When a
required action is not taken on time, it passes by and the
opportunity is lost. I pray that you will recover every lost
opportunity in your life in Jesus’ Name. In 1 Samuel 25:18,
Abigail saved herself and her whole family from destruction
because she made haste to take remedial action on an
explosive issue. David was able to overcome Goliath
completely in 1 Samuel 17:48-51 because of his quick
action. Also, when the conspiracy of Absalom got to the
knowledge of David, he and his allies were saved because
he made haste to depart from Jerusalem.
“And David said unto all his servants that were with
him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall
not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart,
lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us,
and smite the city with the edge of the sword.”- 2
Samuel 15:14
2 Corinthians 6:2 says that now is the accepted time and
that is the day of salvation. The acceptable time for
repentance and holy living is set for now. There is no room
for procrastination anymore. Now is the time for soul-
winning, bearing fruits of righteousness and living a
victorious life over sin, sickness, poverty and failure. It is
time to overflow with peace, joy, success, abundant
blessings and the anointing of the Most High God.
Prayer Point: Father, please destroy the power of
procrastination in my life, and let my time for overflowing
blessings come now in the Name of Jesus.

Memorise: Lo, children are the heritage of the LORD: and
the fruit of the womb is his reward. - Psalm 127:3
Read: (127:3-5 KJV)
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of
the womb is his reward.
4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are
children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they
shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the
enemies in the gate.
Bible in one year: Jeremiah 33-34, and Acts 21:37-22:11
MESSAGE:
The word ‘heritage’ can refer to a cherished property or
inheritance of special architectural, historical or natural
value preserved from past generations. It can also refer to
an asset of monumental value. It reveals the sense of
history, strength, personality, character, importance,
authority and self-worth of a people or nation. God
commended Israel to document historical events,
covenants, laws and commandments that formed part of
their heritage in order to preserve them forever. The
heritage of the Lord is therefore something of inestimable
value that needs to be protected and watched over with all
diligence.
In the beginning, God created man in His own image and for
His own pleasure. Down the line, humanity fell and became
enslaved to sin. God then approached the slaved market
and repurchased us by offering the precious blood of His
Son, Jesus, as the ransom. By this heavy investment, God
secured a double claim of ownership over man: first, as the
beautiful work of His hands, and secondly as adopted
children brought with the precious blood of Jesus. Little
wonder the Bible in Psalm 127:3 refers to children as the
heritage of the Lord. Apart from children, the Bible also
speaks of people who identify with the Living God, such as
the nation of Israel and the body of Christ (the Church), as
the heritage of the Lord.
The realisation that children are the heritage of the Lord
should stir up a sense of gratitude and a sense of
responsibility in any serious Christian parent. Children
must be thankfully received as precious gifts from God. A
sacred charge is laid upon every parent to diligently
nurture and train the children in the way they should go, so
that when they are old, they will not depart from it. The
desire and prayer of every Christian parent should be that
God will grant them the grace to fulfil this solemn
responsibility.
In Psalm 127:4 , children are compared to arrows in the
hands of a mighty man. It is a known fact well-designed,
highly refined and balanced arrows and dangerous
weapons in the hand of warriors. In like manner, well
trained children are powerful weapons. In like manner, well
trained children are powerful weapons to their parents and
the Church of God. They are the future of their families, the
light of the world and the hope of the Church. They should
therefore be carefully instructed and nourished up in the
faith.
Prayer Point: Father, please help us to successful train our
children in the line with your word, and let your light shine
so brought in our children in this generation.
