The year 2014 was very remarkable in the Nigerian Music
industry with over 20 albums released by mainstream pop
stars. Superstars like 2face , P Square , M.I , Olamide, Lace ,
Falz , Timaya, Ajebutter 22 , Duncan Mighty , Flavour, Praiz,
Phyno, Sean Tizzle, Wizkid and others all came to the party
with amazing albums.
Davido
Davido
HKN boss, Davido is surely one of the pop stars that will
drop an album in 2015. Still basking in the euphoria of his
amazing successes in 2014, Davido has promised his fans
that he’ll drop his yet-to-be-titled sophomore album in
April 2015 with a massive album launch concert billed
for the Eko Hotel & Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos.
D’banj
D’banj
Since his return to the country in November 2014 after a 3-
month hiatus, D’banj has been working on the release of a
new album to mark his 10th year as an entertainer. The
album, which according to him, will feature production
credits from Don Jazzy , is already in the works and will hit
the streets soon. D’banj’s last album, The Entertainer was
his 3rd studio album which dropped in July 2008 before the
DKM compilation album that he released in July 2013.
Oritsefemi
Oritsefemi
Self-styled ‘Musical Taliban,’ Oritsefemi announced at the
end of 2014 that his 5th studio album is ready and will be
released in the first quarter of 2015.
Before now, Oritsefemi has dropped 4 albums, with his first
album titled Elewon released in 2006. That album was
followed by Wicked World in 2008; his 3rd studio album
titled Unfadable dropped in 2010, and the 4th album titled
Music Taliban was released in 2012.
Harrysong
Harrysong
Five Star Music act, Harrysong is on the list of pop stars
that will release an album in 2015. The new album will be
Harrysong’s sophomore album following his debut album,
Testify which was released while he was signed to the
Kevin Luciano-led Question Mark Records.
Olamide
Olamide
In the last four years, YBNL general, Olamide Adedeji has
effortlessly released an album annually. His latest offering,
Street OT, was released in November 2014. All things being
equal, Olamide will drop his 5th studio album in the last
quarter of 2015 to continue his streak of incredible
consistency.
Skales
Skales
Baseline Music act, Skales was scheduled to drop his debut
album, Man of The Year in 2014 but unforeseen
circumstances forced him to push it to 2015. The rising star
has already dropped a couple of singles off the debut
album, which is scheduled to drop in the second quarter of
2015.
Ice Prince
Ice Prince
Chocolate City rapper, Panshak Zamani popularly known
as Ice Prince , is gearing up for the release of his 3rd studio
album in 2015.
The rapper released his debut album, Everybody Loves Ice
Prince in 2011. He followed up with his sophomore album,
Fire of Zamani in 2013 and he’s already told his fans to
expect a new body of work from him this year.
Orezi
Orezi
With a string of hit songs to his credit, Delta State born
Esegine Allen otherwise called Orezi is currently putting
finishing touches to his long awaited debut album. The
University of Lagos graduate is currently signed on to
Sprisal Entertainment.
Iyanya
Iyanya
MMMG lead act, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk is almost done with
his 3rd studio album. The 2008 MTN Project Fame winner
released his debut album, My Story in 2009 and followed up
with Desire in 2012 and right now, he’s back in the studio
with famous producer, D’Tunes working on his 3rd album
that will drop in the middle of 2015.
Wizkid
Wizkid
Starboy boss, Wizkid made it clear when he released his
sophomore album, Ayo in September 2014 that a bigger and
better album was in the offing. Now that he has finally quit
E.M.E Records, Wizkid will officially drop his new album
under Starboy in 2015.
